K. (Kristina) Haslinger, Dr

Adjunct hoogleraar Farmaceutische Biologie

Research in the Haslinger lab focuses on the engineering of microbial cell factories for the production of natural products with pharmaceutical applications. The two main lines of research are (1) the computational mining of genome sequences for biosynthetic enzymes and pathways, including the de novo genome sequencing and assembly of microbes inhabiting medicinal plants; and (2) the design and engineering of recombinant pathways in model organisms such as Escherichia coli, Aspergillus and baker’s yeast.

Currently, we don't have any open positions for PhD students or postdocs but we are always happy to exchange ideas for acquiring funding together with motivated candidates. We are particularly interested in people with expertise in genomics (computational) and natural product chemistry/metabolomics (wet lab).
