J. (Jorien) Zevenberg

Lecturer Science & Society and PhD Sustainable nature conservation

Jorien Zevenberg (1985) works as a lecturer at the Science & Society Education group of the Faculty Science & Engineering of the University of Groningen. She studied biology and science communication and in her master's thesis (2009) she researched the policy, social embedment, knowledge, liability and control in National Parks in the Netherlands. Besides teaching students about the societal and ethical aspects of science, she is working on a PhD-research on sustainable nature conservation in which she analyses what are succesful pathways towards sustainable nature conservation with an emphasis on nature inclusive agriculture and national parks in the Netherlands.
