J. (Janina) Wildfeuer, Dr

Janina is Assistant Professor in the Deparment of Communication and Information Studies.
Janina teaches classes in multimodal, interdisciplinary, and applied linguistics and researches all sorts of multimodal documents within several projects exploring the notion of multimodal discourse.
Her publications include a monograph entitled Film Discourse Interpretation: Towards a New Paradigm for Multimodal Film Analysis, published in 2014 with Routledge, the textbooks Multimodality from 2017, Comicanalyse - Eine Einführung from 2019, and Multimodalität from 2020, several edited collections, as well as several contributions and papers on the analysis of multimodal artefacts such as film, TV, comics, social media, video games, etc.
She is also chief editor of the journal 'Visual Communication' and associate editor for the speciality section Multimodality of Communication with Frontiers of Communication.
