RolMaps

From May 2023 until July 2025, I was a student assistant in the project 'RolMaps'. This project aimed to map the wheelchair accessibility of the inner city of Groningen and is part of an overarching project called 'This Abled City'.

This project was in collaboration with 's Heeren Loo, an organisation that provides care and housing for people with acquired brain injuries, deafness with complex problems, and chronic neuromuscular diseases. The people from 's Heeren Loo were considered our co-researchers.

My tasks within the project included:

• GIS data collection with co-researchers (data about stores)
• Qualitative data collection with GoPros (data on obstacles/nuisances)
• GIS data analysis & map creation with ArcGIS/QGIS
• Creating interactive stories using ArcGIS StoryMaps
