In my research, I focus on the biomechanics and physiology of human locomotion, particularly in impaired walking. Students learn how to developn and apply this knowledge to improve assistive technologies like prostheses and orthoses and to design other rehabilitation interventions. They practise this in biomechanics and exercise physiology labs, where gait is measured and analysed, and translated to rehabilitation cases.
