Research interests
Hannah Meijer is affiliated with the University of Aruba and the University of Groningen for research purposes. Her comparative research focuses on Constitutional Law and Administrative Law in the different countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. She specifically researches the suitability of the legislative framework of the Kingdom of the Netherlands regarding collaborations within and outside the Kingdom to perform public tasks on the Caribbean islands belonging to the Kingdom, while still adhering to principles of parliamentary accountability and oversight. This interdisciplinary research includes looking at the characteristics of the islands like small scale, insularity, non-sovereignty and postcolonialism identified in sociological/anthropological research that influence collaborations and need to be kept in mind when formulating a legislative framework for collaborations.
