PhD Project - What you see is what you get: harnessing animal eye design to develop new vision systems
I have started my PhD late 2025, which focuses on studying and comparing several insect species. The first goal of my PhD is to, using the Goniometric Research Apparatus for Compound Eyes (GRACE), map out the visual fields of insects and perform an ecological comparison on them. The second goal of my project is to develop and lay the foundations for new vision technology based off insect visual systems.
PhD Funding
My PhD is funded through the Young Academy Groningen (https://www.rug.nl/research/young-academy/?lang=en)
