Expertise
I am a scholar from Indonesia with a focus on critical tourism studies, environmental and climate justice, and decolonization. Using qualitative and decolonial art-based methods, my research examines Antarctic tourism through the lenses of climate justice and posthumanism.
I explore how colonial legacies shape dominant narratives of exploration, stewardship, and access, and consider whose knowledge informs decision-making and who is most affected by the climate impacts associated with tourism. My work aims to contribute to more just and more-than-human approaches to understanding Antarctica.
I hold a BSc in Journalism and Communication Studies from the University of Indonesia and previously worked as a TV journalist in Jakarta. My interest in tourism and climate issues developed during my MSc in Sustainable Tourism and Global Challenges at the University of Glasgow, and through earlier experiences in the hospitality sector while studying in Melbourne. These experiences continue to inform my commitment to more equitable and regenerative tourism futures.
