C. (Chengxi) Liu, MSc

Chengxi Liu is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Cultural Geography, Faculty of Spatial Sciences, University of Groningen. Her doctoral research focuses on local governance in rural China from a gender perspective. Her broader research interests include rural governance, gender and development, community participation.

She holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in development studies, from China Agricultural University (2013-2019). She participated in several major projects, including the Research-Oriented Participatory Community Development Project (Bread for the World), and multiple surveys related to rural revitalization in China.

From 2019 to 2023, she worked at the Rural Social Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. During this period, she focused on the project of the National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park.
