prof. dr. ir. C. (Charalampos) Tsoumpas

I supervise, together with my research team, multiple research projects and internships for the BSc and MSc programmes in Biomedical Engineering. I am also involved in teaching the course Physics and Technology of Medical Imaging within the BSc Biomedical Engineering programme at the University.

I am continuously looking for motivated PhD candidates, particularly those with backgrounds in mathematics, computer science, engineering, or physics. If you are interested in PET imaging research, feel free to contact me—no need to hesitate.

I am especially proud that my first two PhD students received the prestigious IEEE NPSS Graduate Student Award: Dr. Daniel Deidda in 2019 and Dr. Mercy Akerele in 2020. All of my former PhD students have gone on to successful careers in academia or industry.
