dr. C. (Carlo) Ferri Marini

My teaching activities focus on the physiological foundations of training, exercise testing, and prescription, as well as research methodology and metaresearch in sport science. I coordinate Statistiek 1 (Bachelor Human Movement Sciences) and Introduction to Sport Science (Master in Sport Science), guiding students in developing research skills, critically analysing data, and translating practical problems into testable research questions.
Additionally, I contribute to several Master’s courses, including Physiology of Training and Exercise, Capita Selecta in Sport Sciences, and Klinische Inspanningsfysiologie, where I lecture on aerobic and resistance exercise testing and prescription, physiological adaptations, and performance optimization.
Together, these activities aim to foster both scientific understanding and evidence-based application of exercise testing and prescription, with the goal of optimizing health and performance while ensuring the best possible benefit-to-risk ratio.
