dr. B.M. (Bettien) van Hemel

Bettien van Hemel was born in 1971. In 1989 she graduated at the Cals College in Nieuwegein. The same year she started her medical training at the University of Utrecht and graduated in 1996. She began her professional career as a researcher at the department of hematology at the hospital of the Utrecht University and later worked at the department of internal medicine of Hospital Centre Apeldoorn. In 1998 she started as a resident in the department of Pathology at the hospital of the Utrecht University. In 2001 she switched to the department of Pathology of the University Medical Center Groningen. In 2003 she ended her residence and started to work as a staff member in the same department. Her specializations are surgical pathology of the head and neck, endocrinology, uropathology and cytopathology.
