2022: member of the Research & Societal Impact Committee on Sub-Saharan Africa policy for 2022-2026.

2021: representative for the Arts in the strategic and comprehensive partnership of Stellenbosch - Groningen in September 2021.

2019-2021 Director of Studies of the Research Master Cultural Leadership.

2019-2020 Director of Studies of the Research Master Arts, Media and Literary Studies.

2020: reappointed as Extraordinairy Professor for Film and Visual Media for 2020-2025, and also renamed as Associated Researcher at the University of the Free State (UFS), South Africa.

2011: specially appointed as Extraordinairy Professor for Film and Visual Media, at the Faculty of the Humanities of the Unverisity of the Free State UFS, South Africa, in September 2011. She presented her Inaugural lecture Foundational Questions for a Film and Visual Media Programme in the Auditorium, CF Swart Building, UFS, on Wednesday February 5 2014. 

2011: appointed as Associated Researcher for Cinema and Audiovisual Studies of the Research Institute ACTE - UMRS CNRS Université Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne.

2010-now: made Director of the Film Archive and Media Archeaology Lab at the University of Groningen. 

2008: a visiting scholar at the Gender Graduate Programme at University Utrecht.

2005: appointed Director of the Master in Film Studies and Director of the Faculty Minor in Film Studies. 

2003: joined the department for Arts, Culture, Media Studies and the Centre for Arts in Society.
