A. (Anne) Kellers, PhD

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Economics and Management at the University of Groningen. My research focuses on the intersection of financial markets and sustainability, particularly examining how investors' environmental, social, and governance (ESG) preferences influence decision-making in multinational corporations. I investigate the mechanisms through which investor considerations impact the real economy, aiming to identify barriers to mobilizing capital for sustainable development and to assess the effectiveness of various sustainable investment practices in driving ESG improvements in large public companies.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Socioeconomics from the University of Hamburg and a Master's degree in Economic Sociology from the University of Cambridge. I completed my PhD at the Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth at the University of Zürich. Alongside my position in Groningen, I am also a Research Fellow at the Wharton ESG Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania.
