Short courses and public lectures

The University of Groningen offers several short courses and public lectures.

Language and communication training

The Language Centre combines expertise and quality with practical experience. They conduct standardised tests and provide training in academic, intercultural and business communication skills. Standard and customised, individual and in groups.

HOVO Noord-Nederland

The HOVO Noord-Nederland provides higher education for the elderly (HOVO) in Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe. She is affiliated with the University of Groningen, the Hanzehogeschool Groningen and the Stenden Hogeschool.

Studying part-time at the RUG

In order to broaden your professional perspective or interests, you can study part-time. This is possible in addition to a job or raising your children.

Our MOOCs

The University of Groningen offers young and old, with or without prior education, the possibility to participate for free in some of our online courses. Most of them are MOOCs, Massive Open Online Courses, which we offer via the British FutureLearn platform.

Open lectures faculties

Various degree programmes offer modules from the regular teaching programme to interested parties who are not registered at the university. However, most courses will be taught in Dutch.
