Sub Power of Attorney at the CIT
The Board of the Center for Information Technology (CIT) at the University of Groningen (UG) is authorized, pursuant to Article 35 of the UG Mandate and Power of Attorney Regulations, to make decisions regarding immediate protective measures for the university’s digital security. This includes, among other things, shutting down systems in the event of cyberattacks. This authority, also known as the “shutdown mandate,” rests with the management of the CIT, that is, with the General Director and the Technical Director of the CIT.
In addition, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the CIT has been granted a sub-delegation of authority to exercise this power. This sub-delegation has been approved by the Executive Board (CvB) and is subject to the condition that coordination takes place with the CvB and the CIT board, unless this is not possible in urgent situations.
