Text required at the Institute level

The Standard Evaluation Protocol (SEP) and the RuG Protocol define what information is required for each participating institute or centre. The list below provides the headings and subheadings to be used, the contents required (mainly following the SEP), additional comments and a length limit. The length limits do not include the tables.

The Standard Evaluation Protocol contains a checklist of Assessment Criteria to be used by the Peer Review Committee. (See http://www.qanu.nl/comasy/uploadedfiles/sep2003-2009.pdf  pp. 39--41.) Please make sure you address these criteria in your text.

All text below in brackets [] is comment only, not to be repeated in your contribution.

Where applicable, the section numbers as used in the old VSNU self-evaluation reports are given, in case you wish to re-use and update text from these reports; these sections are labelled: "VSNU:". 

Sections labelled "SEP:" are slightly paraphrased quotes from the Standard Evaluation Protocol.

A.8 Internal evaluation

[Suggestion: use the following text, adapted from the Pharmacy research evaluation:

Each employee regularly has an appraisal interview (in Dutch: beoordelingsgesprek) with his/her supervisor, in particular following the first year of employment, at the transition from a temporary to a permanent position, or for promotion to a higher salary scale. 

Each employee annually has a performance interview (in Dutch: functioneringsgesprek) with his/her direct supervisor. The quality and quantity of research and teaching activities are evaluated. Targets are determined for the year to come and appointments are made for courses to be followed.

Every three months, a meeting of all research staff is held where MSC's policy and plans are discussed. By this means, there is continuous consultation and feedback.]

 

A.9 External validation
