Prof. Ria Broer elected as IAQMS member
In in its annual meeting in Menton, France, the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science (IAQMS, www.iaqms.org) has elected Prof. Ria Broer-Braam of the Theoretical Chemistry group, Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials, as a member.
With this honourful distinction IAQMS wishes to recognise Broer's leading and successful role in demonstrating the usefulness of the methods of quantum chemistry in the study of localized properties in solids. In addition, her instrumental contributions to the establishment of European Master and PhD programs in Theoretical Chemistry were cited.
IAQMS members are chosen among the scientists of all countries who have distinguished themselves by the value of their scientific work, their role of pioneer or leader of a school in the broad field of the application of quantum mechanics to the study of molecules and macromolecules. The Academy has as its main goal to provide a forum for international contact and collaboration and a periodical evaluation of the main developments, advances and promising directions of research in the broad field of its interest.
