Completely controlled cold molecules offer new and exciting possibilities for next-generation precision experiments. Worldwide, a number of experiments is already going on using controlled molecular beams. The goal of our research is to extend the techniques to manipulate molecules such that we can ultimately use trapped molecules to do precision experiments. We are especially interested in the investigation of molecular parity violation.

Our research has started on november 2009 on the topic of cold molecules at the Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut (KVI) in Groningen in the Netherlands. Our research is embedded within the infrastructure provided by the TRI╬╝P Program at the KVI. The KVI is the institute for atomic, subatomic and molecular physics of the University of Groningen

We are currently setting up a lab, and planning a number of exciting experiments. A bit of background information on the used techniques is given, as well as an overview of the scientific goals of our experiments.
