Research Vasilis Kyriakou

Vasilis Kyriakou holds a PhD in Electrochemical Process Engineering (2013) and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering (2008) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. He has been a postdoctoral associate at the Yildiz Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in US, the Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research (DIFFER) in the Netherlands, the Centre for Research & Technology, Hellas (CERTH) and a visiting scientist of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) in Lyon, France.

His scientific background include chemical and electrochemical reaction engineering, materials science and engineering, heterogeneous catalysis, as well as solid state electrochemistry. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Environmental Chemistry and a regular reviewer in more than 20 journals. His research line focuses on nanoengineered (electro)catalysts and electrochemical processes of solid state ionic membrane reactors towards sustainable chemical energy storage and efficient electroconversion of abundant sources, such as nitrogen, water, carbon dioxide and biogas.
