Community of specialists
Are you working in public engagement, outreach, citizen science, or science communication?
Join our Community of Practice! Together, we are building a network for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and inspiration. Because expertise in these fields extends far beyond the UG/UMCG, we warmly welcome colleagues from other knowledge institutions in the North of the Netherlands to join us.

Community Events
We meet approximately twice a year with the public engagement community in the North. Our most recent event, held on 11 November 2025 at the House of Connections, offered an informal setting to exchange updates on developments across the UG/UMCG and to reconnect over lunch. You can find several outcomes from the meeting on the event website.
Our next event is planned for 9 March 2026, featuring invited speakers and more content-driven sessions. Stay tuned!

Our event in February 2025 was a great event where we (re)connected, brainstormed together, shared our successes and struggles, and got inspired by our (keynote) speakers. Looking back at the last event and the presentation slides can be found here.
