Pillar 1: Open Access

This pillar will strengthen the UG/UMCG open access support services. A new open access book fund and a diamond open access fund will provide additional support for open access publishing. Researchers will receive improved assistance to comply with funders’ open access requirements and the UG’s overall spending on open access (aside from VSNU deals) will be analysed.

Deliverables:

• Review the UG’s OA policy
• Improve support to comply with funders’ OA requirements
• Pilot incentive fund for Open Access books
• Establish a support fund for Diamond Open Access initiatives
• Financially investigate OA costs borne by faculties outside VSNU deals
• Large-scale implementation of the Taverne Amendment
