Summary

The least developed countries (LDCs) are developing countries listed by the UnitedNations that exhibit the lowest indicators of socioeconomic development. There are 46 LDCs in the world now. LDCs are lagging behind in terms of economy, education, gender equality, employment, health, food, etc.. However, there is currently an increase in natural disasters and extreme weather around the world. Some studies have proven that poor communities will pay a greater cost in global climate change.

The social resilience of LDCs is weak, and it is urgent to study how to improve thesocial level of LDCs. However, numerous studies have shown that social development comes with ecological sacrifices, such as China. Therefore, it is important to study how to improve the social-ecological level of LDCs at the same time.

According to the Creditor Reporting System database, which counts bilateral aid, multilateral aid, and private aid to LDCs from DAC (Development Assistance Committee). In 2019, from Official Development Assistance (ODA) to LDCs amounted to 57.4 billion, Other Official Assistance (OOF) to LDCs amounted to 0.6 billion, and Private to LDCs amounted to 0.2 billion. Therefore, international assistance has an impact on the economic and social development of LDCs.
