First, Philipp Schofield will discuss in an overview talk some recent work on the plague and next will go more into famine-related diseases in medieval England. Next, Hugo la Poutré will talk about the consequences several plague epidemics in the decades from 1347 onwards had on the population-size of England. Afterwards, Daniel Curtis will turn to the social and economic consequences of the plague epidemics in the Low Countries, in line with his 2019-2024 NWO-VIDi project on the impact of mass mortality in Early Modern NW-Europe. Lastly, Wouter Ronsijn and Isabelle DeVos will present a micro-study on the epidemics that hit the Flandrian village of Anzegem in 1690s.
