Group Data Science, Culture and Social Change - Online Research Seminar: MICHELLE TOMASIK: 'Belonging and Metacognition in Introductory Physics'

This event is organized by the research group Data Science, Culture and Social Change of the Research Centre for the Study of Democratic Cultures and Politics.

Michelle Tomasik is a Lecturer in the Department of Physics at MIT where she currently works on developing online classes and assists with physics education research and teaching introductory physics. She received her Ph.D. in physics from MIT working on photovoltaics and density functional theory. Her passion for education and background in physics lead to her current position as a Digital Learning Lab Fellow, creating online content for introductory physics courses as well as teaching in the classroom. Its specialties are making videos and designing questions and text to effectively pair with videos.
