Research Heymans Institute Research Units Environmental Psychology

Goals

The research unit Environmental Psychology focuses on understanding environmental behaviour, such as household energy use and car use. The group studies:

  • individual and situational factors influencing sustainable behaviour,
  • factors influencing the effects and acceptability of strategies to promote sustainable behaviour, and
  • how sustainable behaviour affects well-being.

The group is involved in many interdisciplinary and international projects that study ways to realise a sustainable society and to understand how to realise a sustainable energy transition.
