Research Heymans Institute More Symposia and colloquia

2014 Heymans Symposium

This year the 2014 Heymans Institute (HI) symposium for researchers of the Heymans Institute of Psychological Research will be held on the 3rd of April from 12:30 to 17:30 in ‘Het Kasteel’!

Have you ever wondered what your colleagues from other departments are researching? Do you think colleagues from other departments might be interested in what you are studying? Or do you just want to participate in a stimulating meeting with your colleagues? The goal of the HI symposium is to bring together the staff of all departments of the Heymans Institute for an inspiring afternoon on a broad range of topics.

The name of this year’s symposium is: “Research worth spreading”. In line with this the HI symposium will be in the style of the famous TED talks. For those who have not heard of TED before please follow this link: http://www.ted.com/

HI Talks

All members of the Heymans Institute were invited to submit a proposal for a talk. Our aim is to compile a program that represents exciting research from both junior and senior researchers from all work fields within the Heymans Institute

Guidelines for a talk at the symposium:

  •           Interesting to a broad psychology audience
  •           Exciting
  •           Easy to understand
  •           Food for thought and discussion
  •           Short (max. 12 minutes)

The talks will be filmed and published on the Heymans Institute website.

Poster Prize and Snijders-Kouwer Award

In addition to the talks there is an opportunity for poster presentations. All HI members may present their poster. A prize will be awarded for the best poster presented during this symposium. Moreover, the annual Snijders-Kouwer Award will be given to the best paper published (or accepted for publication) by a PhD student in 2013. See the call for contributions about contributing a poster presentation or a paper for the Snijders-Kouwer prize.
