The aim of the projects carried out by the Groningen Archaeological Institute in northern Calabria is to further the archaeology of the Sibaritide through an integrated programme of excavations and surveys that it carries out under the aegis of with the Museum of Sibari (Museo archeologico nazionale della Sibaritide) and the where possible with other partners active in the region. The GIA aims for a high standard in fieldwork, ecological and material culture studies and strives to make the data from excavations, surveys and specialist studies available to the scientific community as well as to the broader public through publications, lectures, exhibitions and via the web. GIA welcomes participation of international master, PhD students and post-doc researchers in the project.
