Bioconjugation of metal-based compounds for targeted biomedical applications: from drug delivery to mass spectrometry imaging.

This thesis described the synthesis, characterization, and application of bioconjugated metal-based compounds. The bioconjugated Pd-based metallocages are non-toxic to healthy tissue cells. Their well-defined structure makes them ideal tools for targeted delivery of anticancer drug cisplatin. The bioconjugated Ru-based compounds exhibit high photocleavable property which can be used as mass-tag for the targeted mass spectrometry imaging of tumor tissue.
