Prof. Dr. Adriaan Voors is a Professor of Cardiology and is a world-renowned expert in heart failure. Professor Voors is chairing a research group of students, MD-PhD-fellows and post-docs mainly on using –omics data to increase our knowledge on pathophysiology leading to personalized therapies in heart failure. He is/was involved as principal investigator/executive/steering committee member of 44 clinical trials on novel therapies in acute and chronic heart failure. Prof. Voors was a member of the 2012 ESC Heart Failure Guidelines Committee, and is the co-chair of the 2016 ESC Heart Failure Guidelines. He has authored more than 500 peer-reviewed papers and several books and chapters and his Hirsch-index is 152.

Dr. Jozine ter Maaten is a cardiologist and assistant professor at the University Medical Center Groningen. She is a leading expert in heart failure, with her research focused on the pathophysiology of congestion and on improving diuretic response and clinical outcomes in patients with acute heart failure. Dr. Jozine ter Maaten led the PUSH-AHF trial, which investigated personalized decongestive treatment strategies for acute heart failure. She is actively involved in the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology as a member of the HFA Young Committee and serves as the medical leader of the Dutch national initiative, ‘Deltaplan Heart Failure.’
