Call for submissions
Both PhD candidates and Research Master students of the Faculty of Arts are welcome to submit a proposal. Because of the wide range of backgrounds and research areas in the audience, creating ties between your own research and other academic disciplines is highly encouraged. Read below for detailed instructions.
Submit as PhD Candidate
Any PhD candidate can present at the event, no matter if they are in the first or last year of their PhD. You can submit an abstract either for a 15-minute presentation, or for a 3-minute pitch.
-
15-minute presentation about your research. This is an opportunity to receive input from researchers who come from different backgrounds and have different perspectives!
-
3-minute pitch on the life of a PhD researcher. For example, a new methodology you have tested that could be interesting to others, outreach projects you have worked on, your professional development as an early-career researcher, or even things you wish you had done differently. Basically, anything that other PhD Candidates could learn from!
Submit as Research Master Student
ReMa students are welcome to present a pitch. This could be a pitch for a PhD grant proposal, preparation for a PhD job interview. The pitch will take the form of an elevator pitch of 3 minutes, during which the student must try to convince the audience of the relevance of their idea. The purpose of this pitch is to offer younger researchers a low-stakes platform to get feedback on how to defend themselves and their ideas in front of an audience.
The pitch will be followed by 2 minutes of questions.
As ReMa student you are also free to attend as an audience member. Please note that if you would like to receive ECTS for participation in the conference, you must arrange for credits with the director of your study programme.
