FEB PhD committee

Welcome to the page of the FEB PhD Committee. On this page we give some information about the goals, activities, and members of this committee, and some useful links.

Goals

The role of the FEB PhD committee is to aid communications from FEBRI to the PhD students and vice versa. The committee acts as an independent source of information for PhD students, keeping them up-to-date on decisions that are taken and plans that are under discussion. The communication from the PhD population to SOM is an important part of the committee's job. The director of SOM can ask the committee's opinion about plans and current matters. PhD students can submit plans or opinions to the committee, either by seeing one of the members or through e-mail (addresses are listed below). For optimal efficiency, the committee will also actively solicit opinions among PhD students.

Activities

The FEB PhD committee also wishes to stimulate communication between the approximately 150 SOM PhD students. Therefore, we organize several events which offer an excellent opportunity to meet other PhD students and to socialize with each other.

  • Social activity: A monthly social activity for all FEB PhD students. Examples are drinks after work, a pubquiz, bowling or a workshop.
  • PhD Coffee/Tea Break: A bi-monthly event for all FEB PhD students which takes place at the faculty.
  • PhD Outing: At the beginning of the new academic year we organize a big event for all FEB PhD students that you don't want to miss!
