February 2019 - News article in the local newspaper Dagblad van het Noorden (in Dutch) on the Toekomst Bestending Technisch Vakmanschap (TTV) project of which Professor Jacques Zeelen is the head of the steering group. The TTV project is a research project on the connection between technical vocational education and business. Link to news article:

January 2017 - Professor Jacques Zeelen appointed UNESCO Chair Lifelong Learning, Youth and Work at Gulu University in Uganda:

June 2015 -The University of Groningen together with the University of Tilburg hosted a second invitational conference about vocational education in the Netherlands. A variety of stakeholders including employers, expertise centers, youth, educational leaders and researchers met at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in the Hague. June 2015 - Youth, Education and Work team members Jacques Zeelen and Marit Blaak trained 15 members of the Catholic University of Mozambique on qualitative data analysis and Atlas.ti.

April 2015
- Upon the successful completion of her Master’s Lina Schönfeld graduated on the 16th April 2015 at the University of Groningen. She conducted her Master’s research in the former Early School Leaving in Africa project with the title: ‘Fighting trauma. An explorative study on the role of Martial Arts in the process of rebuilding citizenship of war-affected youth in Northern Uganda.’

March 2015 -Chairperson of Youth, Education and Work Prof.Dr. J.J.M. Zeelen facilitated a training in qualitative research at the University of San Gil, Colombia.

February 2015 -In the context of being appointed Professor for the Chair Lifelong Learning and Social Intervention in the context of globalization, Prof. Dr. Jacques Zeelen gave his inaugural speech with the title: ‘Bowling Together: Lifelong learning as a Collective Challenge in the North and the South’.
