Fourth Annual Groningen Winter School on Human Rights
|Waar:||University of Groningen, The Netherlands|
The fourth annual Groningen Winter School on Human Rights, held in Groningen from 11-15 December 2017, will provide students with insights into a wide range of perspectives on human rights, ranging from Dutch, European and international human rights regimes to human rights in Islamic law.
This timely educational program will take place at a time states in the Middle East and North Africa are experiencing significant social and political turbulence. With student participants from states impacted by Arab Spring transitions, this winter school will focus on salient themes such as Islam and human rights in new governance orders emerging from revolution and conflict. As such, it offers a unique academic content, unmatched by other universities in the Netherlands and Northern Europe.
Lectures will be delivered by an international team of leading experts in the field from the U.S, the Middle East, and Europe. The fee for participation is €300. While accommodation is not included in the fee, there are numerous low cost accommodation options available in Groningen.
