Research GELIFES Data Management

When must I deposit my data?

Question

What are the deadlines for depositing a data archive?

Answer

For regular publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and book chapters:
All MSc students, PhD students, postdocs and other researchers (including professors) should compile a documented archive of all data underlying a publication and send this in for storage in the repository upon acceptance of the publication.

For data collected in the context of an MSc study:
All data should be deposited no later than the date of handing in the final version of the MSc report. A grade for the project will only be awarded when all data (including documentation) are deposited with the daily supervisor of the project (PhD student, postdoc, staff member etc.). Upon approval by the supervisor, the data archive must be sent for deposit in the GELIFES repository within 1 week after uploading the final report in the FSE thesis repository.

For data collected in the context of a PhD study:
The documented data archive of the study must be deposited with the data steward within 1 week after uploading the thesis manuscript in Hora Finita. Chapters that have been archived previously upon publication as a journal paper are to be included in the PhD study archive by adding the relevant metadata and corresponding references to the published dataset.
