CogniGron at the Neuroware IKC Launch and NeuMat Meeting in London

05 February 2026

CogniGron was represented at two key UK neuromorphic computing events held on 29–30 January at Armourers’ Hall in London. Our Scientific Director, Prof. Dirk Pleiter, and IMChip founder Prof. Tamalika Banerjee were invited to take part in the launch of the Neuroware Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) and the subsequent NeuMat (Neuromorphic Materials and Devices for Future AI Hardware) meeting.

On 29 January, Dirk joined a panel discussion titled “Where next for neuromorphic computing?”, alongside leading figures from Innovate UK and UK universities, exploring the future directions and impact of neuromorphic technologies. On 30 January, Tamalika delivered a keynote at the NeuMat meeting, “There is no Planet B”, highlighting the urgent link between neuromorphic hardware innovation and sustainable, energy-efficient AI.

NeuMat is a UK-wide EPSRC network bringing together academia and industry to advance materials, devices and systems for next-generation AI hardware. Participation in these events reflects CogniGron’s ongoing engagement with international partners to help shape a sustainable future for computing.
