Xin Zhang

Xin Zhang is a PhD candidate at the Health Technology Assessment Unit, Department of Epidemiology under supervision of dr. Paul Krabbe and dr. Karin Vermeulen. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from School of Nursing Peking University, China (2019) and a bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China (2016). Her PhD project focuses on patient-reported outcome measurement (PROM) of diabetes patients, supported by the Chinese Scholarship Council. She aims to develop a PROM instrument focused on diabetes. This PROM will be based on a novel measurement framework (MAPR model) and will use smart apps to make the PROM more feasible and simpler to use. Through the PhD project, she hopes to measure what matters to patients and their health-related quality of life, in order to provide evidence for improving, sustaining, or minimizing decline of the patient’s health condition.
