Diana van der Plaat (1990) is a PhD candidate at the department of Epidemiology at the University Medical Center Groningen / University of Groningen, under the supervision of Prof. Marike Boezen and Dr. Kim de Jong. She has obtained a master degree of science in molecular Life Sciences at the Wageningen University (2013, NL)  and a bachelor degree in biotechnology at Van Hall Larenstein, Leeuwarden (2011, NL). For her master internship she investigated DNA degradation at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in New York City (USA), for which she received the highest possible grade in the Netherlands (10). She is currently working on a project entitled: “ Genetics, DNA methylation and exposures underlying COPD”. This research is embedded in the Groningen Research Institute for Asthma and COPD (GRIAC).
