Smart and Circular Hub
Major breakthroughs will be required to prepare our industrial sector for the future. Smart digitalization and circularity will be key and essential for success. The University of Groningen with the support of PricewaterhouseCoopers (pwc) and under the heading of the University of the North explored the need for creating a center of expertise - the Smart & Circular Hub, with the purpose of stimulating developments in the field of smart industry and circularity to strengthen the entire Northern ecosystem. The combination of both disciplines was shown be unique with ample opportunities to future-proofing the industry in the Northern region by i) integrated R&D activities aiming to accelerate innovations throughout the entire value chain, ii) educate future engineers, iii) provide life-long learning and iv) to connect knowledge centers in the region with industrial partners.
