PhDs shine at ENTEG's annual day
This week, more than 140 ENTEG members gathered for the yearly PhD-Day. Representatives from each unit presented their latest research results in an oral presentation while all other PhD students presented scientific posters showcasing their findings.
The jury selected Jesse Jongstra from the Product Technology group as the winner of the oral presentation prize for his talk on novel bio-based polyester(amides) synthesized from waste sugar beet pulp. The jury made the selection for the winner based on scientific content, and most importantly, the ability of the speaker to explain the research topic to the broad, multidisciplinary ENTEG community. Jesse also won the public prize, showing that the audience also was impressed with his presentation. This year, the jury prize for the best poster, selected out of 74 posters, went to Stefano Poli for his poster on the underrated role of the electrolyte in alkaline water electrolysis.
The PhD Day was a great opportunity for students to showcase their research findings and practice their ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively. ENTEG was proud to see that so many PhD succeeded and looks forward to seeing their continued contributions to the field.
We also had a tour of the botanical gardens and ended the day with drinks, providing an excellent opportunity for the participants to network and exchange ideas. The ENTEG PhD Day was a great way to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our PhD. Congratulations to all the participants!
