Dr. Pablo Druetta
Dr. Pablo Druetta

Per January Dr. Pablo Druetta started as a tenure-track assistant professor, with education profile. Dr. Druetta’s research interest is in numerical methods and formulations of chemical products. This research line will be embedded in the Product Technology group of ENTEG, chaired by Prof. dr. F. Picchioni. Pablo Druetta will be teaching mainly in the chemical engineering bachelor and master programme and will take a leading role in innovating the teaching and assessment methods for product technology courses. This will particularly involve the development of new ideas/concepts for example in the fields of computer aided design both in terms of structure property relationships and of products requirements as derived from the product function.

Pablo Druetta received his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from the National Technological University (UTN) in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Thereafter he combined his work as University Lecturer (UTN) and project engineer in industry for 10 years, working for different type of projects in several countries. He came to the University of Groningen in 2014 for his PhD in Chemical Engineering (2018). The goal of his research was the development of new numerical methods and formulations in order to analyze how to improve the oil recovery using chemical agents, including also nanoparticles in the process. He developed new formulations to take into account the molecules’ architecture and the solutions viscoelastic properties, which ultimately play a major role in the recovery process. After his PhD Dr Druetta took up his work in industry again and combined that with a lecturer position at RUG.

Welcome at ENTEG Pablo!
