Responsible Leadership in Cultural and Religious Heritage (RELIC)

Creating a new Erasmus Mundus MA
decorative image

The Centre for Religion and Heritage coordinates an initiative towards a new, Erasmus Mundus funded MA programme to educate future heritage professionals with knowledge, skills and competences that answer the needs of a rapidly evolving heritage field. Based on the Faro Convention, a broadening of focus is needed from a customary emphasis on museum displays canonising aspects of a majority culture, to encompass the crucial co-creative role of communities and minorities. The new MA will harness the methodological expertise of religious studies as well as give religious heritage its due emphasis.

Under the leadership of Christoph Jedan, the consortium consisting of the universities of Barcelona (UAB), Cyprus (CyI), Groningen (UG), Guanajuato (UGto), Krakow (JU) and Kerala (SSUS) has received an Erasmus Mundus Design Measure (EMDM) grant supporting the work towards such a new MA.
