Title: Self-adaptive systems: why, what, how

Abstract:

In this talk, I will first briefly describe the main definitions and concepts of self-adaptive systems, both from an academic’s and practitioner’s perspective. I will then provide an overview of the research in the field and focus on approaches that apply (online) learning to increase the resilience of a self-adaptive system in face of unexpected situations. Examples from the domains of web, robotics, and analytics (inc. ML) workflows will be used throughout the talk.
