Sharing dinner 9 April 2026
For our first sharing-dinner we have chosen the topic Research with Indigenous Peoples. Over the last decades we have seen an increase in decolonial practices in research and policies - at least in many parts of the Arctic - but at the same time we see that the rights and futures of many indigenous Peoples are under threat.
Aim of the sharing dinner

Getting an overview of researchers within the university of Groningen that work with Indigenous communities and what their research is about

Exploring possibilities for cooperation/joint grant proposals on certain themes for example SDGs and Indigenous Peoples or working with different knowledge systems

Exploring possibilities for joint educational programmes for example a university broad minor on Indigenous affairs or a Summer school, Life Long Learning content
Set up of the sharing dinner
In an informal setting (no power point presentations), we will share food and food for thought. At the end of the meeting we can establish whether and how to continue cooperation(s).

This event is for all researchers at the University of Groningen who do research with Indigenous Peoples

The sharing dinner will take place at the Arctic Centre, room 016, Aweg 30 in Groningen
