Study the surface characteristics of Ulvebreen glacier

Carleen Reijmer, Katarzyna Sejan

The aim of the project is to study the surface characteristics of Ulvebreen glacier, focussing on reflective characteristics (albedo), roughness, melt features such as streams, and surface elevation change. To that end we will perform in situ observations using a portable pyranometer and GPS, and aim to use an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV, commonly known as drone) with camera on board to be able to cover a larger area and link the data to satellite observations for evaluation. The observations will be centred around the location of the Ulvebreen weather station, installed during SEES2015.
