Calibrating remote sensing model

Eefje de Goede

Our research focuses on functional diversity, which expresses variation in vegetation traits. We are creating a remote sensing model to infer functional diversity from drone-based hyperspectral data. The SEES expedition is an excellent opportunity to calibrate our remote sensing model and capture valuable functional diversity data. We will carry out plant trait measurements in the field, and capture hyperspectral images by performing drone flights. By combining these, we will create functional diversity maps of Edge ø ya. These maps will significantly improve our current knowledge on vegetation diversity in the area and will open possibilities for collaboration with other scientists.
