Kirstine Møller Gray is a Kalaaleq Inuk archaeologist with a research focus on Arctic cultural heritage, Indigenous sovereignty and museum collections. She has a background in sustainable heritage management and earned her PhD in archaeology with her dissertation on the colonial encounters between Kalaallit Inuit, the Moravian brethren and the Danish colony in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland). Her work bridges archaeological research with community-based heritage initiatives, particularly in the Arctic.
She is a postdoctoral researcher on the TRACES project led by Dr. Sean Desjardin, where she leads the WP3: Ittarnisalirinirmut - ᐃᑦᑕᕐᓂᓴᓕᕆᓂᕐᒧᑦ - Cultural Heritage. Her current research involves working closely with Iglulimmiut to explore how cultural heritage should be represented and disseminated locally. She also traces Nunavut-related cultural belongings in European museums, supporting Inuit-led discussions around access, representation, and digital repatriation.
