Law in Practice

Law in Practice includes all activities inside or outside the Faculty of Law that help you:

• Apply legal knowledge in real-world settings
• Connect with the legal job market
• Develop skills valued by employers

Examples include internships, legal aid clinics, moot court competitions, and more. You can find more information on the Law in Practice Brightspace page.

Only course units listed in Ocasys under LLM Law in Practice can be awarded ECTS. To earn credits for a Law in Practice course unit:

• The course unit must have prior approval from the Board of Examiners via the graduation process.

• You must meet all requirements outlined in the Law in Practice Regulation.

• Your current job cannot be registered as an internship.

• If participating in multiple internships or writing multiple papers, each must cover a different topic.

The Faculty offers in-house Law in Practice components, such as:

• Internships
• Legal aid clinics
• Legal consultancy

These are tailored to specific LLMs but may also be available for other LLMs. If you want to use a different Law in Practice component than the one assigned to your LLM, contact your programme’s Law in Practice coordinator.
