Review of your exam
When and how can you review your exam?
After completing an exam, the course coordinator will make the exam available for inspection at a designated time. On the cover page, you will find:
-
The time, location, and method for reviewing and discussing the exam.
-
Information on how to file an appeal with the Board of Appeal for Examinations (within 6 weeks via the Central Portal for the Legal Protection of Student Rights (CLRS).
What does the review entail?
The course coordinator schedules a time for reviewing and discussing the exam. This can be done in two ways:
-
A general discussion of the exam with the group.
-
Inspection of your answers alongside the standard answers.
Important deadlines:
-
The review takes place no later than 2 weeks after the results are published.
-
For resits: if possible, 4 working days before the resit.
-
For resits in the 4th block, the review may fall during the beginning of the new semester.
The questions and your answers for a digital exam are available for review for a reasonable period. You are responsible for bringing your answers (printed or digital) to the review session.
For written exams, you may take notes during the review, but not on/in the exam itself. The discussion should focus on clarifying errors or deficiencies in the answers provided by the student(s).
Identity check during review
During the review or inspection, the department verifies your identity (name, student ID, or enrolment number).
Please note:
-
If you are absent without a valid reason, you forfeit your right to a review.
-
The examiner determines whether your absence is justified. Vacation is not considered a valid reason.
Individual review
You can always request an individual review. However, this may be denied if you were absent from the general review session without notice or a valid reason.
Copy of the exam
If you intend to appeal the result, you can request a copy of your graded exam. You may also authorise someone else to collect it for you. For this, you will need:
-
A written or email request to the examiner.
-
Your student number.
-
Proof of identity (for both yourself and the person you authorise).
