Lecture timetable and exam timetable
Your classes and exam schedule
Access your lecture and exam schedules in the schedule generator.
Note: exam times are initially in draft form and may change. Always check the schedule generator for the most up-to-date information.
Schedule availability
Block 1 and 2: available by 15 June
Block 3 and 4: available by 1 December
Generate a timetable by course
1. Add the courses you will be taking in the relevant block.
2. The courses will now be added to the timetable.
* Unfortunately, the timetable generator is still under development due to the transition to a new scheduling system. As a result, it is currently not yet possible to select your chosen working groups for each course in order to create a personalised timetable. For the time being, you will therefore see all working groups for a course when generating your timetable. We expect this issue to be resolved before 1 September 2026. It should then be possible to click on a course and select or deselect specific groups. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope to provide an update on this soon.
** First-year bachelor’s students can generate their timetable using student groups in blocks 1 and 2. Go to rooster.rug.nl and select ‘student groups’. If you have registered for WG01, enter WG01 in the search bar and select the correct option.
Travel time between classes
Classes are scheduled in fixed time blocks, often back-to-back. The last 15 minutes of each block are reserved for travel time, allowing you to move to your next location. This is also known as the ‘academic quarter-of-an-hour’.
Questions?
For questions about scheduling contact the Education Coordination (OCTA) at octa-rechten rug.nl.
Academic calendar
Changing exam dates or overlapping exams
Exam scheduling conflicts
The Faculty of Law aims to hold all exams on their scheduled dates. However, due to room availability issues or exam conflicts across faculties, exam dates may occasionally change. You must remain available for the entire examination period to accommodate potential adjustments.
Two exams scheduled on the same day
If you find out that two exams you plan to take are scheduled on the same day, we strongly recommend adjusting your study plan. Contact your study adviser for guidance if needed.
Should you still choose to take both exams on the same day, you do so at your own risk.
Compulsory exams scheduled at the same time
If two compulsory exams within the same programme are scheduled at the same time, you may request to reschedule one of them. To do so:
-
Submit your request well before the start of the semester.
-
Email your request to octa-rechten rug.nl.
Only requests submitted well in advance will be considered.
